Fermentation kits are perfect for making raw, fermented sauerkrauts, kimchi, mixed vegetables, vinegar and any other cultured foods you enjoy making. The plastic lid has a food-grade silicon grommet in the middle so you can securely insert the three piece airlock. Just put some water in the airlock and your vegetables can release fermentation gases while dust, flies, gnats or other objects are kept out. The airlock also allows excess liquids to escape without breaking the seal. Easy cleanup, but do not put the airlock in a dishwasher.
Each Kraut Kit contains: one half-gallon wide mouth Ball jar with original lid and band, one plastic Ball storage cap with grommet (I make them myself), one three piece airlock with basic instruction sheet, an Instruction/Recipe Booklet for making sauerkraut and information on where to find more recipes.
If you don’t need the jar (these lids will fit wide mouth jars, whether pint, quart or half-gallon), you can just buy the lid set. The lid set comes with one plastic Ball storage cap with grommet, one three piece airlock with basic instruction sheet, an Instruction/Recipe Booklet to make sauerkraut and information on where to find more recipes.
